Stay up-to-date with Provincial Restrictions

Keep up to date with the latest on provincial wide restrictions that may affect the operation of your business. Public Health Orders must be followed and may be subject to change. BCCDC has general resources for safely continuing to operate as well as a summary of the latest changes.  Please check back often for the latest information.

Workplace and Businesses with COVID-19 Cases

For employers that may be affected by positive COVID-19 employees at their business, Interior Health has a resource for employers that will help answer any questions and provide guidance for businesses to develop appropriate workplace responses in these situations.

Due to increased COVID-19 cases linked to workplace transmissions, expedited workplace closures are now in effect. Businesses with COVID-19 outbreaks in their workplaces may be ordered to close by a medical health officer or environmental health officer to limit the spread of COVID-19 from the workplace into our communities.

Vaccine Rollout to Priority Sectors and Industries

B.C.’s COVID-19 Immunization Plan is well underway. Stay up to date with the latest on the progress of B.C.’s immunization plan. Immunization schedules are subject to change based on vaccine availability.

At this time, distribution of vaccine for front-line priority workers is currently paused. Interior Health will reach out to those eligible once the distribution status for these group of workers have been updated.

COVID-19 Safety Plan Requirements for Employers

Every employer is required to have a COVID-19 safety plan. WorkSafeBC offers information and resources for keeping workers safe, including a template for a COVID-19 Safety Plan.

In accordance with the order of the Provincial Health Officer, this plan must be posted at the worksite. During an Interior Health or WorkSafeBC inspection, the safety plan will be reviewed.

For the manufacturing industry, Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC may be able to assist you with creation or review of your COVID-19 plan to ensure you have all the appropriate controls in place.
