The people of the Interior are awesome!
We have seen your signs, and we’ve heard your cheers every night at 7 p.m. Thank you for all you’ve done to support us. Mostly, we’d like to thank you for staying home. It might sound like a small thing, but every time you choose to stay home and limit your contact with others, you’re helping to keep us safe.
We also recognize and appreciate all the offers of help we’ve received. This page contains information on ways you can support our COVID-19 response.
Donations of Essential Supplies
Interior Health appreciates the passion and commitment of our communities wanting to help health-care providers and patients.
We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our communities and offers of homemade surgical masks, cookies or other food products. Due to our strict safety standards and to minimize risks to our health-care staff, we are unable to accept those offers at this time.
To ensure that any non-cash donations, personal protective equipment (PPE), medical supplies, and any other donations meet safety and infection control standards and are appropriate for our care environment, please direct public and local community offers to the following links:
• Donate Personal Protective Equipment and Medical Supplies
• Donate Non-Medical Products or Services
For questions about donations of supplies, please email us at COVID19Donations. Please note that we keep all donor information private and confidential and will not share or use it for other purposes.
Suppliers and producers of medical and personal protective equipment
The province of B.C. has created the COVID-19 Supply Hub, an online platform to co-ordinate and streamline the process of connecting medical supplies to health workers.
The first priority of this website, will be sourcing supplies for the health-care system and front-line workers. It is also accepting other essentials such as cleaning supplies.
Other ways you can support our staff:
- Make some noise! Join in the 7 p.m. daily cheer from your balcony, porch or window. Communities across the province are joining the chorus for their local health-care teams at 7 p.m. each night.
- Social media savvy? Mention IH’s COVID-19 page and make sure your network knows where they can find trusted and reliable health information.
